About Me

Hi, my name is Bryce and I am so excited to help you improve at chess and win more games! I have been coaching chess since 2021 and was the president of my local chess club for over 50 players from 2019-2022. I founded the Chess-U-See YouTube channel in 2020 to share my learning journey and to make chess clear and simple. Why overcomplicate such a great game?

I believe that chess can be simple to understand when presented in the right way. Clear and simple, this is my mission in every lesson I teach.

Playing Experience

I was first introduced to chess when I was 6 years old but I didn't begin to play regularly until I was 16 when I found a regular opponent to play with at school. I have competed in a handful of unofficial chess tournaments and have plans to gain a USCF rating. I have been coaching chess since 2021 and I enjoy reading and making videos about chess.

Teaching Method

I am an easy-going coach with a strong focus on helping you improve your game. Chess is a game and should be fun to learn, and this is my primary focus. I believe that playing practical and relaxed chess while focusing on the fundamental chess principles is the key to rapid improvement. 

Private lessons include an initial assessment where the instructor will determine the player's strengths and weaknesses, and then custom tailor a lesson plan to suit the player's needs.
